Membership ranges from ages 2 to 92, from PPL student to ATPL captain, from balloonist to glider pilot to engineer, meteorologist, air traffic controller and all enthusiasts in between.
Women who currently studying full-time and are training for, already hold or have held:

a student member is required to be currently enrolled full time with a secondary or tertiary education establishment and shall provide proof of enrolment.
We hold an annual Rally during June at King’s Birthday Weekend at different locations, alternating between the North and South Islands across New Zealand. You would have the opportunity to fly-in for a memorable weekend of competition, education and friendship. There are competitions and awards for pilots at all levels of experience including fixed-wing, glider, helicopter and microlight aircraft pilots as well as for parachutists & engineers.
NZAWA provides many scholarships to members at varying places in their flying journeys, as well as monetary support for international representation on a case by case basis.

The aviation industry is constantly changing and the NZAWA has seen it through some big shifts. Thanks to the foresight of Rhona Fraser and our Foundation Members the Association has been there for it’s members. We have amazing resources and knowledge in our library and archives that members have access to.
The New Zealand Association of Women in Aviation is about championing its members and celebrating their successes and achievements. Tell us your stories, keep us informed via editor@nzawa.org.nz or post to our Facebook group. We are fast approaching our 70th Anniversary, we’d love you to be here with us and continue to help us grow to support more women in aviation.
For all women interested in aviation: pilots - fixed wing/rotary/glider, ATC, engineers, balloonists, RNZAF, parachutists, medical examiners, meteorologists or a general interest.
